Our telephone operators are your first port of call
when ordering a taxi. We have 17 answering
stations equipped with the latest in call-taking
technology. Caller identification software means
we can save pick-up address details with incoming phone
numbers, and use this information to deal with calls as
quickly as possible*.
On many occasions, callers
have put the phone down and then within a minute there’s
a driver at their door, despite them having been quoted
"15 minutes or sooner if we can". It is Taxifast
policy to always advise callers of the likely time the
taxi will pick up, since in busy periods this is
essential, and forms the basis of a reliable taxi
service. However, occasionally we’ll get a car to
you even quicker than we quoted.
The reason for
this is that sometimes a taxi journey will terminate
early or be cancelled, and when this happens your car
will arrive before the expected arrival time. This
is why our telephone operators will always state "or
sooner if we can". The time we quote is simply the
computer's best estimate for how long it will take your
cab to arrive.
* Address information
is not accessible by office staff. It is kept
fully confidentially, and only used by Taxifast
computers for despatch.
